Volunteer Spotlight: Nathan Enzerra

Nathan Enzerra currently serves the Cleveland AMA as Newsletter Editor and formerly assisted with Social Media. Nathan is the lead in charge of the compilation and editing of the AMA’s monthly newsletter. Nathan gathers articles and latest happenings from many other volunteers for review, then places the information into a newsletter format for distribution to subscribers.

Who are you?
I was born and raised in Painesville, Ohio and attended Cleveland State University where I received my BBA in marketing. My passion for marketing began while attending CSU. In one of my marketing classes we were tasked with creating a marketing campaign for “The Kings of Summer” a film that was locally produced around Cleveland (highly recommend the movie! It stars Nick Offerman of “Parks & Rec” and Nick Robinson from “Jurassic World”). Getting to work on a marketing project that directly correlated with my interest in movies was a great experience.

Following my time at CSU, I took a variety of marketing related roles and internships, my latest being a Social Media Internship with Vitamix. While at Vitamix I assisted with managing the social media community and created content for publication on various channels.

What is your position within the AMA?
My role within the AMA is Newsletter Editor.

Why did you join the AMA?
I joined the AMA in July of last year to get more involved with the marketing community in Cleveland and for the networking opportunities and unique events the AMA provides to its members and volunteers.

What do you love about volunteering?
Getting to work with and meet new people who are not only passionate about growing awareness for the Cleveland AMA, but who are also genuinely great people. I couldn’t do it without the help from the AMA volunteers that contribute to the newsletter each month, to them I’d like to say thank you!

What are your hobbies? My hobbies include exercise (shout out to Title Boxing Club in Westlake!), keeping up on the latest TV shows (“Better Call Saul” and “How to Get Away with Murder” are currently at the top of my list), and collecting any sort of ticket from my travels, to concert or sporting event tickets. I’d like to frame them all one day as a way to look back at all the places I’ve been to and things I’ve done.

What are three interesting facts about you?

  1. Although I was born and raised in Ohio, the majority of my family is from Pittsburgh, so I’m unashamedly a big fan of Pittsburgh sports. I actually got to see the implosion of Three Rivers Stadium in ‘01, which was pretty wild to witness this giant structure be reduced to gravel in a matter of seconds.
  2. I’ve hiked 8 summits in the Adirondack Mountains with a group of my closest buddies and also hiked up Half Dome in Yosemite National Park last year. (Quick factoid: The North Face logo is based off an image of Half Dome).
  3. I’ve seen every episode of Breaking Bad at least three times.

If you could be one character in Mad Men (or any other television show) who would it be?
I’ve actually never seen an episode of Mad Men before! If I could be one character on TV it’d have to be Glenn from “The Walking Dead.” One, because he seems like a standup guy despite the situation, and two, mostly because we dress the same…jeans and baseball tees!

What are your career and/or personal ambitions?
Career-wise I’d like to use my skills and experience to help people meet their goals, and also continue to volunteer and form relationships with people that are passionate about what they do. Personally, I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to many places I never thought I’d find myself in, so I’d like to continue traveling and seeing new parts of the world
