AMA NEO Wins Accolades in National Competition

CLEVELAND — The American Marketing Association Northeast Ohio (AMA NEO) chapter announced today that it has been recognized for its “Programming Special Merit” for the 2017—18 year by the organization’s international headquarters. The AMA’s annual Chapter Excellence Awards (CEAs) program highlights exceptional performance among the organization’s 70+ professional chapters across the U.S. and Canada.

The CEAs were established in 1974 to recognize local AMA chapters for outstanding achievements in leadership, membership and programming. Entries are judged over a three-day period by a panel of past-presidents of award-winning chapters and members of the AMA Professional Chapters Council. Winning Programming Special Merit means AMA NEO scored especially highly in the “Programming” category, which speaks to the chapter’s record of hosting exceptional local events.

“It’s an honor to receive this award and we couldn’t have done it without our VP of Programming at the time, Chris Karel,” said 2017-18 AMA NEO Chapter President, Madeline Shepherd. “It’s our job to provide excellent programming and networking opportunities for our members and guests to elevate the marketing profession in Northeast Ohio, and Chris really went above and beyond to make that happen last year.”

AMA NEO serves marketing professionals throughout Northeast Ohio’s 16 counties and includes the cities of Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Lorain, Elyria, Mansfield, Medina, Ashtabula, Youngstown and Warren. During the award-winning programming year, the organization hosted 27 events with an average satisfaction score of 93 percent. Total attendance for those events was 775 and average attendance as a percentage of our goal was 117 percent.

“With more than ten dedicated board members and past-presidents, and countless volunteers, we have been able to accomplish some incredible things together,” said Kasey Crabtree, 2018—19 AMA NEO Chapter President. “It is very fulfilling to be a part of such a well-established and well-respected marketing organization like the AMA. I’m thrilled that we have been recognized, and this year, we’re continuing to drive toward future excellence.”
