Volunteer Spotlight: Jillian Eddy

Jillian Eddy is the Northeast Ohio AMA Assistant Director of Partnerships. She is responsible for procuring in-kind donations, speaker gifts, and auction items for special events. Jillian makes each AMA event a special occasion bringing her energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to ensure that everything turns out perfect. She is a proud Clevelander who loves spending time with her husband and three children.

Who are you?
I graduated from Ohio University with a Communications Degree and I received my MBA from Cleveland State University. Currently I hold two part-time positions; Special Events Manager at Laurel School and Marketing Sales Consultant at Marketplace Events. I am currently working on Laurel School’s annual fundraiser that will be held in February at the new Hilton Downtown, which includes silent and live auctions so I am currently working on gathering unique and exciting auction items! I also am enjoying the holiday season, prepping for a fun Christmas morning with my 3 young kids – Jake, 5, Nick, 3 ½, and Ellie, 2.

What is your position within the AMA?
Assistant Director of Partnership

Why did you join the AMA?
It sounded like a great opportunity to meet other professionals and help develop my skillset through hearing others stories and also grow my network.

What do you love about volunteering?
Working with the other 2 people on the Partnerships committee, Morgan Neal and Jessica Gawthrop.

What are your hobbies?
Spending time with my family, enjoying all of the wonderful attractions in Northeast, Ohio, and cheering on the Tribe, Cavs & Browns! I sometimes attempt Pinterest projects, but I’m not too crafty.

What are three interesting facts about you?
1) I had three kids within 3 years, on purpose!
2) I know a lot about Cleveland! I love this city and love bragging about all of the amazing things to do and development Cleveland has seen over the last ten years. If you need recommendations on something to do on the weekend or a new restaurant to try, I’ll have some suggestions!
3) I met my husband at OU on Court Street.

If you could be one character in Mad Men (or any other television show) who would it be?
Probably one of the Real Housewives, preferably one of the really rich ones that watches the drama from the sidelines.

What are your career and/or personal ambitions?
My ambitions are to become successful in my current Marketing Sales Consultant position from home and have it become a full-time opportunity that will allow me to be present for all of my kids’ events at school as they grow.

What is your dream position or company that you would like to work for?
I would love to work in programming for a television network and be one of the executives that chooses the shows that make the line-ups and the ones that don’t make the cut.
