AMA NEO Member of the Month: Yanna Leskiv

Yanna Leskiv

Name: Yanna Leskiv
Title / Role: Healthcare Marketing Associate
Company: GOJO Industries, Inc.

Why did you join the AMA?
I joined the AMA because I am relatively new to marketing and wanted an organization where I could learn, grow and network with other marketers in the process. I graduated with a BA in Biology from Case Western Reserve University and had worked at GOJO as a formulator in Product Development before realizing that I wanted a career on the business side. I was drawn to marketing because of its creative nature and am very happy with my move.

How do you engage with the AMA to get the most from your membership? Or favorite aspect of being a member of the AMA?
I always keep a lookout for e-mails that highlight upcoming events and try to attend the ones that I think would be most beneficial and interesting. Most recently, I attended the Marketing Mingle and enjoyed networking with a variety of professionals. I love that with every person I meet, I end up learning something new.

Are there any special work projects or initiatives you are working on or recently completed that you’d like to share with the AMA membership?
I am excited to be in the process of starting my own lifestyle blog. I’m looking forward to having my own space to chronicle my thoughts and experiences as my life unfolds. I plan to focus on my experiences in Cleveland, log some of my travels, and include bits and pieces about my career, product reviews, and motherhood.

List three interesting facts about you:

  1. I was born in Ukraine and speak multiple languages including Russian, Ukrainian and Romanian. I also took Spanish for 5 years, in high school and college.
  2. I enjoy listening to jazz and swing music, specifically Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé. My favorite concert I attended was Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat at the Blossom Music Center.
  3. I love exploring Cleveland with my family to find new coffee shops, attend pop-up events, and swing by our favorite ice cream place, Mitchell’s. Recently, I have been on the hunt for kid-friendly events and activities that my 2-year-old daughter, Oliva, would enjoy. One of the events that my husband and I look forward to most is the Running with a Mission 5K that snakes its way through the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to support The City Mission.
